I suddenly decide to stop paying for a 35 slot Vent for my old guild. It costs 110$ a year. They hardly raid currently and pretty much haven't raided with me since I originally left back in January. So I'm thinking to myself that I don't want to continue to pay, but still feel that obligation. I guess I just need to feel better about giving them the boot....

Nope, but do ask if they still wish to use it. If they do, tell them to start paying for it.
 
make up a bullshit excuse like you can't afford it anymore. Anyone who objects can go fuck themselves because they're a terrible person.
 
Oooor the jerk thing to do would b wait till there mid raid n shut it off.....or wat eva u do as admin

I reckon a combination of all the above

I know what carion is like as a person and he wouldn't want to just cut it off as he wouldn't think it's right,

So if i were you I would:

1) contact them and say hey guys I know you barely use this vent, but I've had a look at my outgoings and as I'm not playing or raidin with you anymore I won't be continuing the payment, the payment expires x date , so hopefully that gives you enough time to work out what you would like to do moving forward for your voice communications, you're welcome to take on the payments or hopefully I've given you enough time to get something sorted



If I were me however, I would

1) stop paying it immediately
2) move on

And the reason I say this is , if they've not contacted you about this in such a long period of time they are just taking advantage of your good nature.
