Battle.net Authenticator Changes

Sounds cool in theory. No moar slower logins!

Blizz can only do so much security wise on there end, but it also comes down to each client machine and there level of security. I do think this move is a good one, i never log onto wow anywhere else except my room on either my laptop or desktop. In all reality for someone to falsely log onto wow from my PCs, they would need to know my windows log in which is 19 characters long with grammar, capital letters, lower case, weird characters and numbers, then would have to know my wow log in password to hopefully get a free authenticator log in.

If my level of security was shit house and i had keyloggers and all sorts of shit, then a hacker could log into wow as im putting each password in anyway so,

overall i like this new change, as i hate putting in my code all the time.

im in ur akount, shardin ur purplz

and here I get fucking locked out everytime I try to play wow at work on my cell phone connection because the IP changed.... pain in the ass.

If you use an authenticator – and we hope you do – you may soon notice that an authenticator prompt may not appear with every login. We’ve recently updated our authentication system to intelligently track your login locations, and if you’re logging in consistently from the same place, you may not be asked for an authenticator code. This change is being made to make the authenticator process less intrusive when we’re sure the person logging in to your account is you.

We hope to continue improving the authenticator system to ensure the same or greater security, while improving and adding features to make having one a more user friendly experience. If you don’t already have a Battle.net Authenticator attached to your account, don’t wait until it’s too late - http://us.battle.net/en/security/checklist
