* Introduction:
Unlike a normal loot council where loot is distributed by a case-by-case basis, BNW practices a modified loot council where the officers will step in only when a special need should arise See Special Need. Otherwise, all raiders are to adhere to the under mentioned rules and regulations when rolling on loot.
* EPGP Lootmaster Addon
BNW uses a self modded version of EPGP Lootmaster that can be obtained from Waggz. It uses the same communications system but has all different modified versions and names so it will not be automatically updated by any addon managers.This automates many of the technicalities of looting that would otherwise make the system highly confusing. WE ARE NOT USING AN EPGP LOOT SYSTEM.
* Disambiguation:
* Loot Rules:
* Loot Precedence:
Loot is distributed to the members of the raid in the following order of precedence.
- Guest raiders will have the same priority as initiates.
- Alts fall under the category of Special Need See Special Need
* Special Need
To enable efficiency in our already short raid week, Officers will let the current loot system run its course unless a special need arises for us to step in.
This list is non-exhaustive but commonly includes:
* Rolling Protocol:
STEP 1: Loot drops. The loot pops up for you to make your selection:
Click carefully, as once a raider decides on the spec type, he is not allowed to retract his decision other than to pass on the loot completely.

STEP 2: Rollers must indicate in the notes, the # of pieces they have already won in the week (For normal epics) and for all our raids (Tier Pieces/Last Boss Loot).

STEP 3: The loot master window, showing everyone's choices and rolls and notes:

The loot master will then give a considerable window of time for raiders to make their decision or when the default timer on the mod runs out, then close the bidding by counting down from 5 on ventrilo, of which the loot will be given to the winner.
The mod rolls for you, there is nothing required of any member other than typing a note and selecting their main/dual/off/pass. If you do have a comment then make sure you type it before making your selection.
* FAQ:
1. Why not a DKP system or an EPGP system?
Officer loot is not perfect we know but we think it is a better system than DKP for distributing loot, for guild team spirit, preventing us sharding stuff, and raid progression.
What we would like is for the classes to work together as a team to effectively predetermine which loot goes where (or who they feel has equal rights and rolls together) so that you are just as happy when your guildmate gets upgrade as when you yourself does. This will take time and trust we know - but this is the ultimate aim for our loot policy and for building a great team spirit in the guild.
Ultimately, there is no perfect loot system. We will make every effort to be impartial and spread loot around the guild fairly. Whatever happens - please note this: we will occasionally make mistakes. When we do make mistakes, complaints about loot in guild chat will not be tolerated - please privately whisper officers complaints and we will do everything we can to explain or rectify the situation.
2. “If I roll mainspec, but no one else rolls, its just offspec.”
Simply put, no. This facet of the system works similarly to a DKP system, where even if you are the only one obtaining the loot, you still pay for it in terms of DKP points. The moment another raider sees that you have rolled mainspec, they might have wanted to roll as offspec but just held out on rolling completely. You winning it as offspec then becomes unfair to the latter roller.
3. “This loot system still seems pretty random! How do you make sure it's fair?”
Officers keep a spreadsheet of overall loot winners so we are able to trace with considerable accuracy who has been having a lucky streak over some weeks.

* Disambiguation:
1. Jargons - The terms Mainspec, Dual-spec and Offspec vary from that used in a talent tree. For example, you might be specced Protection, but you still can roll for tanking loot as “offspec”. By mainspec in loot jargon, we mean requesting for precedence over the piece (usually of great importance to yourself, or a BiS). Thus, someone who rolled mainspec will be given higher priority for consideration than say, one who rolled offspec.
2. Dual-Spec - Raiders who wish to roll for Dual-Spec need to declare their dual-spec and apply for eligibility here.
3. Last Boss Loot - Last boss loot refers to any kind of loot with the current highest ilvl in the game. For the context of the current patch 3.0.8, the highest ilvl is 226. Bosses that contain these loots are Kel'thuzad, Malygos and some of Sartharion's loot.
2. Dual-Spec - Raiders who wish to roll for Dual-Spec need to declare their dual-spec and apply for eligibility here.

* Loot Rules:
1. Tier loot i.e. [item]Mantle of the Lost Protector[/item], Non-Tier loot i.e. [item]Grim Toll[/item] and Last Boss Loot i.e. [item]Betrayer of Humanity[/item] are mutually exclusive.
2. BoP Loot is free for everyone to roll and will have the rules of loot precedence applied to it.
3. BoE Loot are open for Mainspec and Dualspec rolls only. Otherwise, it will automatically go to the guild bank.
4. Misc Loot which covers mounts, bags, and various other vanity or non-raiding equipment will have special loot rules determined by the Loot Master during the raid.
5. Only loot from Brave New World's 25man raids will count towards consideration. This includes Tier Pieces you may win from VoA-Emalon runs.
