Warlords of Draenor Launch Timer
We have one more news post coming tomorrow with some final guides. Let us know what questions you still have about release day content or useful addons we should mention in the comments! Keep in mind that raids and the new rated PvP season don't start for a couple weeks, so those aren't release day content.

Warlords of Draenor - Garrisons: Profession Buildings
Many players have been asking how the small profession buildings work or if they have to build them recently, so today we are taking a look at the Alchemy Lab as an example. The full details are below, but the short version is:
- If you build a profession building without the profession, you can craft most of the lower level things, such as weaker flasks and weaker armor and weapons.
- If you build a profession building with the profession, you can build all the things for that profession, and you get extra materials that are crafted with a daily cooldown.
- In the Alchemy example below, you cannot make the best flasks without having Alchemy, but you can make weaker flasks with the building.
- In the Alchemy example below, you get Alchemical Catalyst (daily cooldown) from the daily cooldown as an Alchemist. You can also get some from Work Orders with the building. If you have both the profession and the building, you will get more per day than you would with just the profession. If you only have the building, you can still get some of the daily cooldown material through work orders.
- You can purchase some recipes for gold and some for an item from a separate daily cooldown. These were sold by a vendor in the profession building and vendors in Ashran on beta.
Warlords of Draenor - Garrisons: Alchemy Lab
The Alchemy Lab takes up a Small plot, which can also be used for profession buildings, a Salvage Yard, and a Storehouse. Once upgraded to Tier 3, your garrison will have three Small plots available.
Abilities
This building is good for producing Alchemy items without the profession or producing Alchemy items faster with the profession.
- Level 1 - Allows the production of Alchemy items and work orders.
- Level 2 - Allows followers with the Alchemy trait to work here, granting a unique bonus. Also allows up to 14 work orders at one time.
- Level 3 - Allows up to 21 work orders at one time.
Level 3 Unlock
The Level 3 version of this building is unlocked by completing the Working More Orders achievement, which requires you to complete 250 work orders in your garrison.
Work Orders
The Alchemy Lab allows you to turn in 5 x Frostweed for a Alchemical Catalyst.
For a bonus, you can assign a follower with the Alchemy ability to your building. The follower will also give you a daily quest every day that gives you a free Alchemy Experiment, which contains some extra potions.
Profession Leveling
If you have the Alchemy profession, you will loot Mysterious Flask from something in Draenor. Doing so will take you through a short quest line to Avenge and Reclaim, which rewards the scroll to increase your max alchemy level and the blueprints for the level 1 building.
If your Alchemy isn't capped at 600 yet, be on the lookout for profession fragments. These drop from mobs in Draenor and can either be combined with some materials or turned in to NPCs at your garrison for skillups.
Daily Cooldown
One important thing you can craft is a Secret of Draenor Alchemy, which you can trade for different Alchemy recipes in your garrison or at vendors in Ashran.
The other daily cooldown is the Alchemical Catalyst. Alchemical Catalyst are used for Greater Flasks and the Alchemy trinket.
This spell will produce 4 to 10 Alchemical Catalyst depending on your skill level. The closer you get to 700, the more you will produce. Upon reaching 700, you will learn Alchemical Catalyst, which changes from a single daily cooldown to a daily cooldown that can accumulate up to three charges, allowing you to miss a few days and still make all of your cooldowns.
Keep in mind that work orders will help to produce more Alchemical Catalyst and if you need even more you can purchase them for 10 x Primal Spirit each.
Crafting Without Alchemy Profession
If you don't have the Alchemy profession, an NPC in the Alchemy Lab will assist you in crafting many Alchemy items. The new items you can craft at each level are listed in the table below.

Apexis Crystals
Apexis Crystals are a new currency added in Warlords of Draenor. They are used for the legendary quest line, can be used for Seal of Tempered Fate, and are used to purchase armor, mounts, pets, transmog gear, and other items.
Obtaining Apexis Crystals
Most of your Apexis Crystals will come from completing a daily quest that requires killing mobs in the level 100 part of each of the Draenor zones. Each day in your garrison's Town Hall you will be offered a choice between two missions, with solo missions rewarding 800 Apexis Crystal, group missions rewarding 1000 Apexis Crystal, and an Ashran mission rewarding 1,000 Apexis Crystals.
When you arrive at the area, you must fill a progress bar to 100% by killing mobs and interacting with objects in the area. Depending on the quest, mobs may give ~1 percent each while objects will give you ~2-3 percent each. The mobs you kill in this area will sometimes drop a few Apexis Crystals each, increasing the total earned from this quest.
Another reliable source of Apexis Crystals are the work orders done in your garrison. When picking them up, there are often some Apexis Crystals along with the regular work order output.
If you have an Inn / Tavern in your garrison, you can pick up a daily dungeon quest that has a chance of giving you a small amount of Apexis Crystals.
There are a few other less reliable sources, starting with The Liberation of Shattrath mission that rewards 1,000 Apexis Crystals. You can also defend your garrison from invasion every week and obtain some Apexis Crystals depending on how well you did. Apexis Crystals can also drop from rare spawns / elites, which usually have a small number of crystals on them.
Bonus Rolls
In Warlords of Draenor there are several ways to earn bonus rolls (Seal of Tempered Fate). If you have excess Apexis Crystals you can spend them on seals, with the cost doubling for each turn in per week.
- Sealing Fate: Apexis Crystals - 1,000 x Apexis Crystal
- Sealing Fate: Heap of Apexis Crystals - 2,000 x Apexis Crystal
- Sealing Fate: Mountain of Apexis Crystals - 4,000 x Apexis Crystal
Legendary Quest Line
You will need to collect 4,986 Apexis Crystals for part of the legendary quest line that comes after clearing a few heroic dungeons: Draenor's Secret Power.
Armor
Apexis Crystals can also purchase armor that can be upgraded to item level 655. There are three tiers of each item, starting at item level 630, then going to 645, and finally 655.
- Legs - 5,000 + 11,500 + 20,000 = 36,500 Apexis Crystals for item level 655 legs.
- Head - 5,000 + 11,500 + 20,000 = 36,500 Apexis Crystals for item level 655 head.
- Hands - 4,000 + 10,500 + 17,000 = 31,500 Apexis Crystals for item level 655 hands.
- Waist - 4,000 + 10,500 + 17,000 = 31,500 Apexis Crystals for item level 655 waist.
- Wrist - 3,000 + 9,000 + 14,500 = 26,500 Apexis Crystals for item level 655 wrist.
- Cloak - 3,000 + 9,000 + 14,500 = 26,500 Apexis Crystals for item level 655 cloak.

Warlords of Draenor - Midnight Releases

Obviously that’s just not an option for most of you, but I thought it’d be a good time to plug it again. ;D As far as midnight releases go, from what I understand they tend to be determined on a store-by-store basis based on preorders. As you said, with the proliferation of digital downloads, especially now with the Digital Deluxe edition for World of Warcraft, and especially because WoW is an online game (and people have reasonably fast internet connections these days), it’s going to have some impact on physical game sales.
And, just in case it's an issue with buying it digitally directly from us, you can also start playing at Midnight if you purchase a digital copy of the standard or Digital Deluxe editions at GameStop before they close on Wednesday night.
I lost interest in releases when Blizzard decided to release them at 3AM. There is no sane reason for a midnight PST release, forcing the rest of the country - if they want to participate at launch - to stay up to ungodly hours in the midst of a work week.
I don't know if this is accurate at all or not, but I always just assumed it was a decision based on intelligent server engineer load balancing. Fewer people staying up to play right at launch means more time to fix any issues before the vast majority of people run into it. Midnight EST means 9pm on PST, which would mean, like, approximately infinitely more people playing right at launch. *shrug* Seems like a good reason, anyway.

PvP
In PvE you have to leave a balance or gear and skill for the group to win. In PvP you should balance it evenly so only skill wins.
I think that's one opinion, but it isn't one we agree with. (holinka)
WoW tries to balance RPG power progression without letting it get out of control. (holinka)
There's no power progression in SC2, Hearthstone, LoL. It's competitve and fair, at least you know you got beat by skill not gear
Sure, it works for some games. Do we want all games to be the same? (holinka)
Also 2 of the 3 games you mentioned (LoL, Hearthstone) do have power progression. (holinka)
We've made a lot of effort to make the game more accessible, especially on the gear front. (holinka)
Enter a BG at 100, you're automatically ilevel 650. Never been easier to get started. (holinka)
If I come late into the season I'm base level most others are base + X over me, fair perhaps but still slaughters esp if high skill
This is the very essence of an RPG. You become more powerful as you play. Done a lot to prevent that power gap from being too large (holinka)
RPG is typically PvE. Competitive games don't have this disparity b/c it's not fair. How is gear disparity fair in PvP?
WoW is an RPG. WoW PvP is RPG PvP. With some effort, everyone can get the best PvP gear for their character. (holinka)
They're two different beats. I think we could treat them as such. In competitive place there is no gear disparity so why in game?
A central pillar of WoW is your character and their gear. WoW PvP is taking that character and that gear into PvP combat. (holinka)
I think PvP is more about being the best at your class rather than out gearing your opponent. at least it should be.
We disagree that this is how it "should be" for all the reasons I have mentioned. (holinka)
I'd also point out that it can be *more* about skill than gear, without gear being of zero value. (Celestalon)
PvP should be about only skill not out gearing your opponent. like in competitive play.
There is a spectrum of how powerful gear can be in RPG PvP. We think "enough to feel rewarding" is better than "meaningless." (holinka)
Understand that you disagree. (holinka)
Lore
Well in the AU, Garrosh was never born. There are some massive differences.
Correct, this is one of a few exceptions where differences were not caused by Garrosh's interference. (_DonAdams)
I just mean big differences like that in general. Really makes you wonder what else could be that different.
Understandable, but I'd recommend not worrying too much about it. Our goal was to show old Draenor, with very few exceptions. (_DonAdams)
Yeah, Garrosh. Main character, never exists in this timeline. No baby, Garrosh. Timeline was chosen for this fact.
We made exceptions to avoid weirdness (baby Garrosh) but the goal is to show you old Draenor as closely as possible. (_DonAdams)
You have to understand that the exceptions cause the weirdness... it's a double edge'd sword, really.
I understand, but I urge you not to extrapolate these differences to assume the whole world is different. (_DonAdams)
World
In previous years, the Horde wickerman used to be outside the city. Should be trivial to move it back outside.
seems like wickerman and other NPCs should be outside the ruins same as SW gates. 11months to update
It was moved inside because the area is cooler. Want to keep it there if we can resolve flagging issues. (_DonAdams)
but then why is it at SW, since that's not the main place for the worgen!!! It's Darnassus.
I felt that SW was more appropriate as the Gilneans sharing their tradition with other humans and remembering their humanity. (_DonAdams)
Also it's way more convenient for Alliance players to go there. (_DonAdams)
so is Ogrimmar for horde. So that last argument is invalid. But I can imagine that they only want to introduce it to other humans
Org is more convenient, but UC is where it's been historically located. Would have felt very weird to move it that far. (_DonAdams)
Garrisons
Quick question: Is the barn to only way to get Savage Blood apart from buying it from the AH?
Yep! (Muffinus)
WARCRIMES Machinima Series Teaser
The WARCRIMES machinima series teaser has been released. This 10 episode series has a target release date of even later than the Warcraft movie, sometime in mid 2016.
The team is still looking for a 3-D Modeler proficient in 3DSmax or Maya, or a 2-D Artist that would love to lend their aid to designing the characters, hero art, promotional art, and several other people. If you are interested in helping, be sure to see the description on Youtube for an email address to contact.

The Iron Horde offensive has been temporarily driven back, but we need to establish a base of operations on the other side. That’s where you come in. Thanks to Khadgar we’re able to open small, temporary portals to Draenor to get supplies through—but your support will be limited. It will be up to you to build a Garrison, choose the soldiers that will follow you into battle, defend our supply lines, and ultimately dismantle the Iron Horde before they can mount another attack on Azeroth.
Good luck, and we’ll see you in Draenor.
