Computer question

In general you can't expect installed windows programs to work if you move them around. It just happens that with WoW it can work. If in doubt it is better for your computer's health to uninstall/reinstall.

oh well then i could just install stuff on the other drive couldnt i? :p

I just installed a video driver and for some reason it made my recycle bin disappear, how do i get it back?

I would be pretty happy because plenty of people go to pains to remove the recycling bin from their desktop - in XP it's the only icon not straight forward to remove. I've never used it and it just adds to the clutter.
I think for winXP you need to run TweakUI (this is a windows power toy) and there is facility to do it there.
I read that for Vista you can control this from the Appearance and Personalisation control panel.
Not sure about windows 7.

oh ok i thought something was wrong and my computer got messed up by a bad download or somethin

maybe nvidia doesnt like recycle bins on the desktop :p

Yeah who knows? It's probably wrong that it was removed in the first place. There's probably nothing to worry about though.

I have a new question and the topic of this thread fits ya know.

Im curious about what i need to do to fix some performance of my computer.
Lets say i have a browser game open ok? While i have that browser game open it slows down the rest of my browser connections during the actual connection i.e. loading a page, it slows the crap out of my other connections if i have a stupid browser app up.

What do i need/need to do to increase the performance of my other browsers while i have these apps up?

Oh vye i think i figured out i just stupidly deleted the recycle bin icon on my own without realizing it. Ive come to see that while im right clicking it for properties or whatever i often hover over the "delete icon" thing or whatever.
Im a stupid.

maybe its time for you to upgrade a new processor and maybe some more memory to run multiples apps.

Heh! I'm not sure I ever read these posts properly before 'cause... I accidentally removed recycle bin from my desktop about 2 weeks ago and I could not work out how to get it back; and it was surprisingly easy to delete. I just hit 'delete' instead of 'empty recycle bin' then didn't pay attention to the 'do you really want to do that' question and just hit yes. Difficult to remove my arse, lol.

If you still need to get yours back Hawn, just Google 'restore recycle bin on Windows [whatever version here]'. Loads of links on how. I used this one, but that's for XP.

As for your other problem, no idea.. I'm pretty sure all browser games are just memory/cpu/whatever heavy, they slow my PC down too.

lol Empty recyle bin thats it! Thats how i always come close to deleting my icon.
Ive had it back for awhile now, just when i bumped this post i saw that and thought it was funny.

Thanks Trig, i thought that would be the case but i was hoping there would be an easier answer. I love my new video card and i didnt wanna practically buy a new computer again.

u can always just get a new MB, Ram, processor, power, etc and keep your VC hehe i custom build mine. its cheaper that way if you build it yourself :D

My current processor is 2.10 ghz and ram is 4g, what should i be going for nowadays?

What's your GPU?

But honestly, nothing lol, if your current rig is able to handle the games/things you can throw at it, and you're content with the performance. Save your money. I only ever upgrade parts if it's a neccessity.

sigh You crazy bastard, if you had read just a bit more youd see im asking how to improve the performance. :p
Is GPU the processor? if so its AMD Phenom 8400 triple core.
I was told triple core isnt too good but thats just how it came and its worked out great until recently then Vye helped me get an awesome video card. Everything works fine, i just get really annoyed when i have a browser application open and it lags my other browsers up cuz of it.

Simple answer could be the browser you're using.. If it's IE, stop using it. :p

Do you defrag regularly? Enough room left on the HD your Windows install is on for it to do what it needs to without angst? And so on... :)

I use firefox, lately ive been thinking of trying a new browser and even going back to IE but i dont really want to go back to IE.

It was suggested to me that the drive with Windows on it should have 10g free to run smooth and i have 13, it shows it in red but i mean i dunno, seems like thats plenty space.
I did just get my tax return, could get an external drive now.

lol And defrag regularly? not at all, whats regular for defragging? :p

Actually i just realized... earlier i said everythings workin fine and i lied lol ive been wanting to beat the living crap out of my computer for a couple weeks now, things are fritzy.
I hate computers.

Even my internet connection has been really stupid bad lately.

Im gonna get some sleep.

Firefox good. Get the new version tho, is yum.

Umm... regular for defrag, not sure, I try and remember to do it monthly, or when I notice everything being particularly slow and chuggy.

Yeah 10G free is fine. Without knowing what exactly your PC is doing that's annoying.. hard to say what problem is. Defrag for a start and see if it improves.

Oh man LOL sorry, I thought you already upgraded your computer since this thread was open a few months ago, and assumed that (with your new upgraded computer) you were asking where you could further upgrade components lol.

My bad.

But onto your question, Firefox 4 or Google Chrome is pretty good (although these days I use Firefox 4), and Safari is pretty good browser aswell.

BTW, just a question? what are you using "multiple browsers" for? when you get the lags? Just curious, cause the lag could be due to what your browser is viewing, even though Firefox 4 has a pretty low CPU/RAM usage, when I open up like 3-4 tabs, with stuff liek Youtube, Flash medias and all those fancy stuff, it spikes my CPU/RAM upwards of 40%.

haha Bee i just bumped this post because its the same topic, i had a computer question. :p

ohhhhhh So im not the only one? haha I just thought it was my computer not being able to handle it. But i talk to people all the time that say stuff like "oh i run 20 applications at one time with no problem" (exaggerating) so im like wtfs.

I tend to run facebook and mmo forums while i play browser games like facebook games or other browser games.

I thought firefox updated itself automatically?

Now im going to bed for real. I think. :p
