Firelands Raid Changes Incoming

With the final showdown against Deathwing approaching, we’ve been keeping a close eye on players' progress through the current Firelands raid content. Before patch 4.3 is released, we want groups who are working on Heroic-difficulty content to be able to get as close to Ragnaros as possible, and we want players who are tackling normal progression to be able to experience as many of the encounters as they can. To achieve these goals, we’ll be toning down the difficulty of both normal and Heroic raids through hotfixes in the coming weeks. In general, we plan to reduce health and damage of all raid bosses in both normal and Heroic Firelands by around the same percentage we brought difficulty down for the original Cataclysm raids when Rage of the Firelands (patch 4.2) was released.

We're looking forward to seeing more groups of players face off against the Fire Lord in the weeks ahead. However, before we make these changes, we want to give everyone a final shot at the bosses at their current difficulty level -- so this is a heads up that we’re planning to apply the difficulty hotfixes beginning the week of September 19.

Sigh at nerfs... Really hate them ! Would rather earn the kills like everyone else
 
It's quite the norm to nerf it I guess, but still too early imo. Especially since 4.3 is not even on ptr yet.
 
I dunno abt you guys but I want those nerfs bad. ><
 
Needs to be in the style of the ICC buff, ie be able to turn the nerf off, and do the encounters at their original difficulty.

I agree it would be easier to kill bosses because we can allow more mistakes ... But do we really want that? Encounters are unforgiving for a reason ... Think hard things like heroic chim... Putricide etc - you die u wipe.. Etc

Lets hope its not stupid boring easy which i think they will make a few mechanics negligible, While its ok to kill HMs but if the guild ends up being 7/7 HM's in a months time and there's still 2 months till 4.3, i think it would be a sad time.

Lets wait and see what the powers above do.
 
Don't think they should nerf HM though. We've seen how badly BWD and BOT were nerfed, and they're really ez-mode at the moment.

Quite lol they nerf the stuff before rag so it is an even bigger kick in the head when you pull him :p
 
I've never been on the receiving end of farming the entire game for all it's content be it normal or heroic and while I dun see us farming heroic rag (I think), would like an easier time clearing them.

Game got pretty bad at 1 point similar to how Tai felt when we were wiping on Rag, I dun want fights to be piss easy but I would like us to take at most 2-3 weeks on a new boss b4 we kill it if not, its just gonna get boring and tiresome for me as it has been at some points of cata. (These points being neferian normal, rag normal.)

So how do we end up clearing new bosses 2-3 weeks at a time?

Its either

1) We skill up and play better

or

2) blizz helps us by nerfing them.

1 would be the best possible solution but wow being a team game, no matter how hard one tells one self to play better, ultimately, we're still dependent on the skill of the others in your grp to clear content. 1 person can only do so much in a raid. :)

I don't know about you guys (except maybe Ferek.... NO definately Ferek), but I can't wait for these nerfs. Regardless of difficulty, I have fun when boss dies, I mean if I wanted to challenge myself for some sense of accomplishment I wouldnt' be doing that on WoW. Not to say that I don't enjoy abit of learning, that's fun, but wiping, as Zukki mentions - especially when the cause of endless wipes is out your control, isn't fun.

.. plus these nerfs will make me feel more manly! =D
 
The only thing that would gripe me is that I wouldn't be able to challenge certain content at the way top guilds did, so I'll never be able to taste how hard it is. Also, its slightly sad to see all the guilds who were trolled countless times by Rag before, and they could clear Rag after the nerfs.

Overall though, I guess that's how the game works.
 
With regards to heroic rag and the nerfs that are incoming, I can assure you even with the nerfs, he is not gonna be loleasy and will definitely take even hardcore guilds weeks if not months to clear so rest assured, the fight will still be challenging for those who are looking for a challenge. Heroic rag was so hard for so many guilds that many and I stress again many guilds who were 6/7hm on the 2nd week of 4.2 release are still 6/7hm currently so its still gonna be a challenge. :)

Even the heroic fights, are not gonna be easy so relax guise.... Its still gonna be difficult just not shit ass hard difficult. For those who are keen to try out content b4 nerfs to heroic rag, rest assured that the fight would have been so hard you'd prob piss in your pants and cry just by pulling :p

Wiping sucks no doubt but if the numbers they are talking about happen then half the heroic content just became retardedly easy eg. h baleroc in 10's ~70 million hp normally 2 healed 1 tanked if a 20% nerf happens thats 56 million turning it into a simple 3 heal fight only gets worse if the nerf is 30%.

People will clear the majority of heroics and then hit an even bigger wall on rag because there was zero challenge in the earlier content which is generally what you guys suffered on rag once you overcame alysrazor the lack of challenge in the staghelm encounter made it seem so much worse when you guys only took about a month not too different from your 2-3 week kills. I know from experience how much it hurts to have to rely on others learning their role but make no mistake when we killed h baleroc that was far more satisfying than just coming in there and 1 shotting it cause it was terribly tuned. Heroics mainly rely on dps requirements while doing other stuff to be challenging and anyone doing heroics no doubt would be doing so for a challenge.

Heroic Baleroc is basically Brut 2.0 now if he had far less health would you find him much fun?
 
Nope not at all

Brut was fun hard mode - that's it.
