So guys it's been near on a week since things were juggled around and a few returns were made. So lets press on:
UI Competition
There has been some great entries so far and it's really got that forum going. After consideration we're going to do things a little differently here than first mentioned. The new prizes are:
1st - 5,000g
2nd - 2,500g
3rd - 1,000g
and as an added bonus, everyone who has submitted a thread with their UI in the UI forum will receive a 500g reward if they don't manage to rank. The decision will be made by a poll open to all guild members which will be put up sometime this coming Friday (20/5/11) with all voting finishing by 12:00am server time on Friday 27th May. This means we need your UI posts up soon if you intend to post one!
Recruitment Threads
As part of our continuing drive to promote the guild we are going to be running a new competition during May and June. The idea is to bump our Oceanic Guild Recruitment forum thread as much as possible, while Xylie has been doing a great job with this it is difficult to keep us up constantly without resorting to double posting or camping the thread 24/7. So this is what we have planned:
*We will be running this contest from 16/5/2011 to 16/6/2011 (based on Dath realm time).
*The competition revolves around who can make the most posts in our recruitment thread.
*For the purposes of this competition, guild alts must be used and each alt is a separate entry so if you post once on two alts you have a count of one post in the tally, not two.
*Any double posting post 16/5/2011 disqualifies you from winning any prize.
*The prizes will be:
1st place - 10,000g
2nd place - 5,000g
3rd place - 2,500g
There will also be a special prize of 5,000g for the best post made in the competition period to be decided by all the officers.
Guild Review
We are nearing the end of the survey phase of this. If you have not responded please do so by Tuesday 17th May as we do need to finish this up as soon as possible.
All the responses from this will be used to help plan for the future and make any adjustments if needed in the mean time. This is your chance to make a real difference in how the guild is run so make it count.
Welcome Back
It looks like we have quite a few people coming back and of these quite a few intend to raid soon, helping them out helps you in the long run so if;
*You help them run heroics/normals/ZA and ZG heroics they will gear faster and be able to subsequently help you faster in Raids.
*Apply as soon as possible if there is a vacancy, don't wait to gear up if you're already inguild as we will fill these vacancies as soon as we find a suitable applicant.
*Socialise and welcome people in when they come back, nothing is worse then coming back and noone talks to you, this does nothing for the guild as a whole as it isolates people.
Feedback and Commentary
If you have feedback or commentary to make or want to know something please feel free to contact myself or one of the other officers, if we've got time we'll be able to take time out to answer most questions and if we can't we'll either try to get back to you ASAP or refer you to someone who can answer your question. This applies to everyone even friends who want to find out something.
That said don't be that guy who whispers an officer 5 minutes before raid time asking how to remove the furball from his cat's throat.... believe me it's happened and it's incredibly annoying as a raid leader to have this happen.
Recruitment
Please if you know someone who is capable of filling a position marked vacant on the homepage refer them to us. The more spots filled the better our raid options are in future and I believe the referral scheme for applicants who make it to member rank is still in place (confirm/deny officers please?) which makes it all the more better to get your referrals happening.
And with that, that's about all we have for now, in future either myself or one of the officers ill try to do one of these threads from time to time to make sure everyone stays informed.
