on wow on a day like yesterday where i'm stuck at home? probably about 250mb - 300mb, what are you doing that's drawing so much data? have you checked if there's something running in the background non wow related? on the other side if you watch alot of streaming content then this can add up fast.

Just looking at last week's raiding data volume - Wed and Thur raids including vent each used about 200MB max - that's for about 4-5 hours online each night. I've always thought wow's data appetite is pretty low.
Perhaps your wireless is compromised?

Yup Sunday was around 200MB too - for a long time online.

But yea lol normally to get my WoW fix around 8hrs a day lol jezz i dont sleep much..so play more then most ppl.But i rarely download or wacth moives only lol if there is new WoW bossers, addon's and pacth's but really only using Pc for WoW and the hrs im not on it missers is normally playing so guess it could be alot of data, never would i think 600mbs a day but

background programs should be 0 bar only wowtunnels and anti virus, less someone is haxxing me

do addons such as recount and other add to your downlaod content?

do you have a wireless router? as vye says first suspicion is a wireless hijacking

No its adsl phone line set up,and now it's rolled over and im wacthing it seems to be using 15mbs a attempt tonight so guess it could just be from WoW use.

ewwww dsl
ya poor bastud :p
its just as bad as usin wireless

but ya know, sometimes you just cant be picky :(
i dont have a clue as to what im talkin about

yes well with your adsl do you have a router of some sort? you should if you don't. If it came with one from your isp it's very possible you have a wireless router on it's default settings free and open to the world. If you're not sure, go to start>run> type cmd, then in the command prompt type ipconfig /all. Then look for IP addresses and if you see one that starts with 10.x.x.x 172.16-31.x.x, or 192.168.x.x, and if you see one of those addresses on one of your adapters look for the gateway line. The gateway would be the ip address of your router.

Thanks waggz
and yes lol i have a router, just the stock one that came from telstra a 2wire.
ran the cmd seemed to only be one connection.wicth was local area connection 2,
default gateway, dhcp server and dns servers number are all the same.the IP address is a little different.

ok, are you sure it doesn't have wireless built in and in it's default configuration? a lot of the ones that comes with broadband these days do, and some come shipped with the wireless turned on. Have you ever logged into the router's interface? Should do a search on that and check it out just to make sure. The DHCP, DNS, and Gateway can all be the same that would be your router's IP address.

Just post the modem model number - easy to look it up

thanks guys its a 2wire 2071-A

yup it is a vendor customised thingy (ugh). If you look at the pdf link at the bottom of Notus link it mentions wireless - whether that is on your model or not is another issue. If you look at the high res tif link there is a "wireless" LED on the unit. See if yours has that Genjosh. If it is lit up then I guess wireless is active in some way or another.

In other news, Singapore is getting fibre optics interwebs soon ^^
